The systemic approach to risk analysis in geography

This paper presents a brief review of risk studies in Geography since the beginning 20th century, from approaches focused on physical-natural components or social aspects, to perspectives that incorporate systemic approach seeking understand and explain issues at spatial level. The considers principles interaction between multiple variables dynamic organization processes, as part new formulation scientific vision world. From this perspective, Complex Systems Theory (CST) is presented appropriate conceptual-analytical framework for Geography. Finally, analysis geographic information integration capabilities Geographic Information (GIS) based are explained, which position it fundamental conceptual methodological tool approach.
